In this class I will teach Galileo students the basics of poetry writing from types of poetry to techniques and formats of writing, including helpful exercises to invoke direct action. The class is designed to help them discover their inner voice, how to get it onto paper, and eventually out into the world. As a writer and poet, my class is not only educational, but also personal and authentic. I hope to unlock the students' creativity and courage. My goal is for them to try something new and feel empowered by their new skills.
