Students will learn about strange and shocking events or personages not often explored in the usual historical sources. Students will hopefully become more interested in history by examining topics beyond just names and dates–and will understand that with history, truth is often stranger than fiction.

Students will learn about strange and shocking events or personages not often explored in the usual historical sources. Students will hopefully become more interested in history by examining topics beyond just names and dates–and will understand that with history, truth is often stranger than fiction.
📆 Syllabus
Students will identify and explore specific events and/or personages from three broad historical periods: ancient to classical, early medieval to pre-Enlightenment, and modern/current era.
Students will broadly survey the larger historical eras that produced the specific events.
Students will discuss their thoughts/opinions of reviewed events, and detail their knowledge of/experience with the broader historical eras.
Students will research and present their own examples/findings of ‘horrible history’ from the three explored historical eras.
