Draw it step by step

Six steps to a sea monster

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Start with the long neck

Draw a big circle for the head. Then two curvy lines swoop down from it. Wobbly is fine.

2

Draw the waterline

One wavy line across the page. Stop at each side of the neck.

3

Add the humps

Two round humps poke up out of the water. Make the first one bigger.

4

A tail and a face

A pointy tail tip pops up at the end. Then give the head one eye and a shy smile.

5

Add the spikes

One pointy spike on top of each hump. Two more go on the back of the head.

6

Finishing touches

Short wavy ripples in the water and a splash by the tail. Now this sea monster is yours.

Now draw a sea monster peeking up at a surprised boat.

Animate your drawing with AI

Finished drawing? In a Kubrio project, your kid turns this paper sea monster into a real animated film — with Kubrio's AI thinking partners at their side. The little head sway below is a wink; the real clips go much further.

Ingenious projects that inspire kids to make things — until they find the thing only they could make.
