The basics
Accounts, access, and getting your family set up.
- How do accounts and access work?Kubrio runs on one family account. Kids don't have accounts of their own; each kid is a profile under it, and you give them access to the studio from your side. You can invite your partner as a co-parent with full access, and grandparents as view-only members.
- How do we get set up?Setup is four steps. Start training Claire, the family's AI learning coach. Give your kids access from your parent account. Choose between sprints (social, a real deadline, healthy pressure) and solo studio time (creative flow, their way). And verify your ID — safely, with Stripe — to unlock social features.
- Can I share Kubrio with my partner or grandparents?Yes. Kubrio is a family account. Invite your partner as a co-parent — they get full access and can even handle the payment — and invite grandparents as viewers, who get a read-only window into the kids' projects plus Claire's weekly summary. One membership covers everyone.

- "Who is Claire?""Claire is Kubrio's AI Learning Coach for Families — the first of its kind. Once a week she has a short live voice check-in with your kid about what they built and what's next. You schedule it, she remembers your whole family across everything in Kubrio, and she emails you a clear summary after each session."
- "What is the AI Crew?""The AI Crew is three thinking partners — Krea the creative, Tek the maker, and Brio the questioner — who work alongside your kid inside every Kubrio app. They ask better questions instead of giving answers, so your kid stays the maker. They share one memory across apps and are reachable by voice."
- "Why does Claire send talking prompts?""Claire's talking prompts ask specific questions about what your kid just did, instead of generic praise, because studies show process-focused language — and curious reactions to setbacks — predict how kids handle challenges over time better than trait praise like 'you're so smart.' The evidence is real but not a guarantee: it's the field's most robust finding, not magic."

- What do I see as a parent?You get three things. Claire, your family's AI learning coach, does a weekly live voice check-in with your kid and emails you a clear summary. You get alerts when something needs your attention. And your dashboard holds a portfolio of everything your kid has finished.
- How does Kubrio keep kids safe?Kubrio is a kid-only, ad-free, COPPA-compliant studio. Every message between your kid and the AI is checked by a second AI before it goes through. Parents get weekly summaries plus alerts when something needs attention, and you can review, freeze, or delete the account at any time.
- Who can see what my kid makes?Finished work shows automatically in the internal Kubrio Gallery — visible only to other Kubrio families, never the open web. Your kid decides what hangs there and can take anything down anytime. A public page beyond Kubrio is always your kid's explicit choice, and it's the one thing you can remove.
- How does the membership work?One membership covers your whole family and every studio app, including Claire and the AI crew, with no per-app charges. Founding families pay $99/month for one of 100 founding seats. You can cancel anytime. Refunds are instant, apply to the first payment, and forfeit the founding number.
- What's the learning science behind Kubrio?Kubrio stacks five conditions the research keeps pointing at: exposure to things a kid has never tried, freedom over what they make, a weekly rhythm, a real finish, and someone who sees the result. No method guarantees an outcome, but those are the conditions interest and persistence tend to grow from.
The studio apps
Every app, one page each: what your kid does and what they finish with.
- What does my kid do in Sketchling?In Sketchling, your kid invents a story and draws it by hand on real paper — a hero, then six storyboard panels, one per scene. They photograph the drawings and pick an art style, and the app renders those drawings into a single animated film. The drawings are the movie; the app brings them to life.
- What does my kid do in Director?In Director, your kid makes a short documentary about a real moment in history — today, the Great Panathenaea festival in Athens, 438 BC. They pick a reporter's perspective, fact-check claims in a stamp-the-truth game, write the narration for four scenes, and choose a voice. The AI illustrates and films it.
- What does my kid do in Origin Stories?In Origin Stories, your kid becomes editor-in-chief of their own comic. They invent characters, pick a style (manga, comic, zine, or newspaper strip), plot the story in beats, and edit the panels the AI Crew draws. A finished issue publishes each week, building into a real series under your kid's pen name.
- What does my kid do in Game Dev?In Game Dev, your kid designs a real, playable puzzle game. They give a small crew of characters gameplay powers, build grid-based levels around those powers, and playtest their own game. A built-in solver proves every level is actually beatable before it can launch to the Gallery, where other Kubrio kids can play it.
- What does my kid do in Biographer?In Biographer, your kid is the show's biographer — never the host, never the guest. They pick a historical figure, then record two things in their own voice: why that person matters to them, and 2-3 questions they want the show to find out. Two AI co-hosts, Krea and Brio, tell the figure's struggle story and answer the kid's questions directly, splicing the kid's own recording into the finished episode.
- "What does my kid do in Stocks?""In Stocks, your kid researches real companies with real market data, builds a portfolio using simulated paper money, and records a short investment thesis for each pick. There is no real money and no trading account. Bigger picks can ask for a parent co-sign, and portfolios can be shared as a safe snapshot."
- "What does my kid do in Discovery?""In Discovery, your kid picks a short quest and finishes something real — a photo set, a recording, a written piece, a drawing. Each quest builds one modern skill, like making with AI, judging what AI says, or explaining an idea clearly. An AI partner helps, but your kid does the making, and every finished quest lands in their portfolio."
- What does my kid do in Book Club?In Book Club, your kid picks a book and reads it, then records a roughly seven-minute podcast-style interview about it with one of the Crew as host. The finished episode lands in their library and portfolio, and they can share it with family.
- What does my kid do in Wild World?In Wild World, your kid picks an expedition and sets off as a naturalist. The first live expedition is The Beagle Voyage — sail with Darwin from Cape Verde to the Galápagos, discovering 30 real species across six chapters. Along the way they make field-guide entries and finish with a shareable expedition journal. More expeditions (Amazon River, Madagascar) are coming in future sprints.
- Why does Kubrio teach through projects instead of lessons?Kubrio is built around projects because that is the direction the evidence points. The largest analysis of learning research ever done — 225 studies — found students in listen-only classrooms were about one and a half times more likely to fail than students who learned actively. Kids learn what they practice, so Kubrio makes the practice the unit.
- How does Kubrio design its apps?Every Kubrio app is built the same way. We research the science behind the subject first — the actual papers, everything known about how kids learn it. Then we prototype, make sure it's safe, launch quickly, and improve continuously with feedback from kids — some of whom become Quality Guardians and help us build.
- What new apps are coming?Kubrio ships new studio apps all the time — the studio you join is not the studio you'll have in six months. New apps appear in your kid's studio automatically, at no extra cost: one membership, one price, and everything we ever add is included.
