How to write a story
To write a story, a kid needs a character who wants something, a problem in the way, and an ending where something changes. Plan it in three boxes first. On Kubrio, that story becomes a cartoon in Animation Studio or a comic in Comic Studio, with your kid's own words.
Your kid's story becomes something you can read, watch, or play.

Stories become cartoons in Animation Studio and comics in Comic Studio, so a good plan on paper turns into something the family can watch or read.

Why it matters
A story is a plan with feelings in it. Kids who can say what their character wants and what stands in the way can plan almost anything.
Writing also gets easier when the story has somewhere to go. A kid writes more when the lines will be read out loud in their own film or comic.

Questions parents ask
- What age is story writing for?
- Kids 6 to 13. Six-year-olds can draw a story in three boxes and tell it out loud. Kids 9 to 13 can write a script with lines for each character.
- My kid hates writing. Where do we start?
- Start with pictures. Three boxes, one drawing each, and a sentence under each box. That is a whole story.
- Does AI write the story?
- No. Your kid comes up with the character, the problem, and the ending. Every word is theirs.
