How do accounts and access work?
Kubrio runs on one account — the parent's. Kids don't have accounts of their own; each kid is a profile under yours, and you give them access to the studio from your account. A family account that you can share with a spouse or grandparents is coming soon.
Kubrio has one account per family, and it belongs to the parent. That is a deliberate design choice, not a missing feature: your kid is 6 to 13, and everything they do inside Kubrio happens under your roof.
Your account is the account
When you join, you create a parent account. Every kid you add lives inside it as a profile — their projects, their portfolio, their conversations with the AI, their Claire sessions. You see all of it from one place.
There is no kid email address, no kid password to reset, and no separate login for your child to manage or lose. Practically speaking, your kid does not have an account — they have your trust, expressed as access you grant from your side.
How your kid gets in
You give each kid access to the studio from your account, and they open it in a web browser on whatever device your family already uses — a laptop, a tablet, a desktop. There is nothing to install.
Once they're in, the studio is theirs: the apps, their projects in progress, the AI Crew. What they make lands in their portfolio, which you can always see. How the rest of the setup works — Claire's first session, sprints vs. studio time, the social features — is covered in getting set up.
Coming soon: the family account
We are building the account out into a true family account — one you can share with your spouse, and even with grandparents. Everyone who loves the kid gets a window into what they're making, without anyone getting a second, disconnected copy of the family.
Until then, the parent account is the single home for everything, and the summaries Claire sends keep the other adults in the loop the old-fashioned way: forward the email.
Frequently asked questions
Does my kid need an email address?
No. Kids don't have accounts, so they don't need an email address, a username, or a password. You grant access from your parent account, and their work lives under it.
Can both parents use the account today?
Today there is one parent login per family. The shared family account — spouse and grandparents included — is coming soon. In the meantime, many families simply share the login or forward Claire's weekly email.
What if we have more than one kid?
Add each kid as a profile under the same account. One membership covers all of them — see [how the membership works](/docs/membership-and-billing).
Can my kid use it on any device?
Yes. The studio runs in a web browser, so any reasonably modern laptop, tablet, or desktop works. There is nothing to install and no device to register.
