How to make a book out of paper
This course teaches your kid how to make a book out of paper: eight pages, folded, stapled, written, and drawn. Krea hosts four short films: folding the book, planning one idea per page, big pictures with short lines, and the title page. Plan about 4 minutes of films and 45–60 minutes of making.

Lesson 1 transcript: Fold and staple
Today you make a real book. One you can hold in your hands!
You need two sheets of paper and a stapler. No stapler? Some string works too.
Put the two sheets together. Fold them in half, like a card.
Run your thumb along the fold, so it stays nice and flat.
Now staple right on the fold. One near the top, and one near the bottom.
Using string? Ask a grown-up to poke two holes on the fold. Then tie a bow.
Now count. A front, six pages inside, and a back. That makes eight pages!
Your turn. Fold two sheets in half. Staple the fold, or tie it. Count your eight pages. Then press Next.

Questions parents ask
What kind of book can my kid make?
Any kind: a story, a how-to, or a book of facts. The films show a how-to book about growing a bean, and the plan works the same for every kind.
We don't have a stapler. What works instead?
String works. A grown-up pokes two holes on the fold, and your kid ties a bow.
How long does it take?
The four films take about 4 minutes. Folding, planning, and filling the pages take about 45–60 minutes, and the pages can be split over a few days.
