Draw it step by step

Six steps to a bird

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Start with the head

Draw a circle near the top left. Wobbly is fine — wobbly circles make friendly birds.

2

Add the body

One long curve from the circle, down round the tummy and back up to the circle.

3

Beak and eye

A pointy beak on the left, like a little arrow. Then one round eye.

4

Draw the wing

A leaf shape on the side of the tummy. Keep it inside the body line.

5

Fan out the tail

A wide fan out of the back, with three soft points on the end.

6

Finishing touches

Two thin legs, a branch to stand on, and one little berry. Now this bird is yours.

Now draw a bird with feathers no bird has ever had.

Animate your drawing with AI

Finished drawing? In a Kubrio project, your kid turns this paper bird into a real animated film — with Kubrio's AI thinking partners at their side. The tail flicking below is a wink; the real clips go much further.

Ingenious projects that inspire kids to make things — until they find the thing only they could make.
Ages 6–13.
