Draw it step by step

Six steps to a hippo

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Start with the back

Draw one long flat line for the water. Then a big round hill on top of it, open on the left.

2

Add the wide head

A head that is narrow on top and wide at the bottom, sitting on the water in front of the hill.

3

Tiny ears and eyes

Two tiny round ears on top of the head, and two dot eyes right under them.

4

A big wide smile

Two nostril dots, a smile from cheek to cheek, and two little teeth under it.

5

Ripples on the water

Two wavy lines under the hippo, one long and one short.

6

A lily on the water

One little flower floating by, with a curve under it for its leaf. Now this hippo is yours.

Now draw a hippo trying to hide behind a very small bush.

The magic part

Animate your drawing with AI

Finished drawing? In a Kubrio project, your kid turns this paper hippo into a real animated film — with Kubrio's AI thinking partners at their side. The little ear twitch below is a wink; the real clips go much further.

Ingenious projects that inspire kids to make things — until they find the thing only they could make.
