Draw it step by step

Six steps to a bug robot

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Start with the shell

Draw a wide, low dome with a flat bottom. This is the robot's beetle shell.

2

Add a boxy head

A square with round corners in front of the shell, sitting low. Join them with a short neck.

3

Give it a face

Two round camera eyes, a happy smile, and two antennae with a ball on each tip.

4

Three jointed legs

Each leg is two straight lines with a knee dot between them and a round foot. Lift the front one to wave. The other three legs hide on the far side.

5

A seam and bolts

One curved line from the top of the shell down to the back, with three bolts along it.

6

Finishing touches

A line of ground under its feet, and a bright light on the front of the shell. Now this bug robot is yours.

Animate your drawing with AI

Finished drawing? In a Kubrio project, your kid turns this paper bug robot into a real animated film — with Kubrio's AI thinking partners at their side. The little wave below is a wink; the real clips go much further.

Ingenious projects that inspire kids to make things — until they find the thing only they could make.
