Halloween Scavenger hunt maker
Halloween scavenger hunt maker
A Halloween scavenger hunt is a chain of clues: the first clue sends kids to a hiding place, where the next clue waits, until the last one leads to a prize. This maker picks the hiding places for your hunt (indoors, outdoors, or at a party) and prints the clue cards, a hiding list that tells you where each card goes, and a prize certificate. Kids 6 to 8 get picture clues, and kids 9 to 13 get rhyming riddles.

Next, build a scavenger hunt as a game

Questions parents ask
How do you set up a Halloween scavenger hunt?
Print the clue cards and the hiding list. Keep card 1, then follow the list in order: card 2 goes at the first place, card 3 at the second, and the prize at the last. Hand card 1 to the players, and the hunt begins.
How many clues should a scavenger hunt have?
Six to eight picture clues take kids 6 to 8 about 15 minutes. Ten to twelve riddles keep kids 9 to 13 busy for half an hour. For two teams, print the hunt twice on different colored paper, and each team follows its own color.
What can I use as a prize?
Anything that ends the hunt with a cheer: a bag of treats, a small toy, a book, or a paper crown. The maker prints a champion certificate to go with it. Write the winner's name on the paper, not in the maker.
