How to direct a cartoon: shoot and reshoot each scene

Watch this 52-second film with your kid before they open the Set room. Tek shows what a director does when the cameras roll.

What your kid learns

  • The director checks each scene against the storyboard.
  • Reshooting is normal. Real directors shoot the same scene again and again.
  • Saying what to change makes the next take better.

The steps

  1. 1

Your kid presses shoot, and Tek films every box on the storyboard, about 30 seconds a scene.

  2. 2

They watch each scene and check that it matches its storyboard box.

  3. 3

They keep the good takes, and reshoot the rest with a note on what to change.
