Draw it step by step

Six steps to a pterodactyl

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Start with the body

Draw a small, slim body in the middle, round at the front and pointy at the back.

2

Spread the wings

Each wing is a big triangle. Draw a straight edge out to a bump, bend down to a point, then scoop back to the body.

3

Long head and crest

A thin neck up to the head. Add a long pointy beak at the front and a long pointy crest at the back.

4

Give it a face

One round eye on the head, and a smile along the beak.

5

Tucked-up feet

Two little feet tucked under the body, pointing back.

6

Finishing touches

A puffy cloud down below, a round sun up high, and two wind lines behind the tail. Now this pterodactyl is yours.

Go further

Now draw a pterodactyl carrying something home to its nest.
