Is Kubrio or Synthesis better for my kid?

They aim at different things. Synthesis has two products: an AI math tutor that builds real math fluency, and Synthesis Teams, where kids learn collaboration through live team games. Kubrio is where kids make real things and grow initiative. None of them compete. Run Synthesis for math and teamwork, Kubrio for the maker.

What Synthesis is best at

Synthesis is a respected name, and for good reason. It runs two strong products.

The first is an AI math tutor. It gives kids real, adaptive math practice and builds genuine fluency. It lives in the same lane as Khan Academy: solid academic work, done well.

The second is Synthesis Teams. Kids drop into live games with other kids and have to negotiate, strategize, and cooperate to win. It is one of the better places online to practice collaboration and teamwork under real pressure.

Both are good at their jobs. Neither one is trying to do Kubrio's job.

What Kubrio is for

Kubrio is where a kid makes a real thing. A film. A fund. A magazine. A game. Each one is built in weekly sprints, and the kid's own hand stays the hero — AI is there to amplify what they start, never to make it for them. See what Kubrio is and our studio of apps.

The point is initiative: the muscle to have an idea and carry it all the way to something real. That is a different muscle from math fluency, and a different one from team strategy. It is the maker's muscle, and it grows by making.

Why they pair well

Think of it as three jobs, not one contest. Math fluency. Teamwork. Making. Synthesis covers the first two beautifully. Kubrio covers the third.

A kid can do adaptive math on Synthesis in the morning, play a team game at lunch, and spend the afternoon shipping the next sprint of their own project on Kubrio. Nothing overlaps. Each one makes the others look better. It is a genuinely strong combo.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use both?

Yes, and many families should. Synthesis handles math and teamwork; Kubrio handles making and initiative. They cover different jobs and pair cleanly, with no overlap to manage.

What's the difference between Synthesis Teams and Kubrio?

Synthesis Teams is live, multiplayer collaboration: kids practice strategy and teamwork in real-time games with other kids. Kubrio is where a kid builds their own real thing — a film, a fund, a magazine, a game — in weekly sprints. One trains cooperation; the other trains initiative and making.

Which if I can only pick one?

Pick by the job you want done. If your priority is math fluency or learning to work in a team, choose Synthesis. If your priority is a kid who makes real things and drives their own ideas, choose Kubrio. Both are honest choices for different goals.

Does Kubrio teach math like the Synthesis tutor?

No. Kubrio is not academic and is not a math program. Math shows up only when a kid's project needs it — budgeting a fund, sizing a game economy. For dedicated math practice, the Synthesis tutor is the better tool, and a great complement.
