Six steps to a candy cane

New lines are purple. Lines you already drew turn light.

1

Draw a tall hook

One long line up from the bottom, then curve it right over the top like the handle of an umbrella.

2

Add a second line

Draw the same shape again just inside the first one, keeping the gap the same all the way round.

3

Close both ends

One short line across the bottom and one across the tip of the hook. Now it is a solid cane.

4

Stripe the long part

Four slanted lines all the way up the straight bit. Start each one on the left edge and finish on the right.

5

Stripe the curve

Four more stripes around the bend, leaning the same way as the ones below.

6

Finishing touches

A bow near the bottom with a loop each side, and a round knot in the middle. Now this candy cane is yours.

Animate your drawing with AI

Finished drawing? In a Kubrio project, your kid turns this paper candy cane into a real animated film — with Kubrio's AI thinking partners at their side. The little bow swing below is a wink; the real clips go much further.

Ingenious projects that inspire kids to make things — until they find the thing only they could make.
